There is always something to see and do in Oban – a vibrant town out of season as well as in the height of summer. Known as the Gateway to the Isles, Oban, huddles around the horseshoe-shaped Oban Bay and is a popular leisure destination for thousands of visitors during the tourist season. The bustling harbour welcomes ferries from the isles on a daily basis, and many boat trips begin their trips from this spot.

What to Do

Visitors can take a ferry from Oban to Mull, Tiree, Coll, Barra, South Uist, Colonsay, Islay or Lismore. You can also stay more local to Oban and visit the many visitor attractions in the area. These include the nearby Oban distillery, museums, the popular sea life sanctuary and the iconic McCaig’s Tower, to name but a few.
